Candle Safety Guide
-
Please read the candle care card provided in shipment and warning labels on ALL products received. Jade Rain Creations is not responsible for damages caused by user misuse and negligence.
-
Always burn candle within sight. Extinguish all candles when leaving the room and before going to sleep. Make sure the wick ember is no longer glowing or smoking.
-
Never burn a candle on or near anything that may catch fire.
-
Keep candles out of reach from children and pets.
-
Trim candlewicks to ¼ inch each time before burning. Long or crooked wicks can cause soot deposit, large flame, uneven burning, or dripping. Trimming the wick too short can cause a melt pool to extinguish the flame and result in tunneling.
-
Be sure the candle is placed on a stable, heat-resistant surface. This can help prevent heat damage to underlying surfaces and prevent glass containers from breaking.
-
Keep the wax pool free of any debris at all times.
-
Keep burning candles away from drafty areas. This will help prevent rapid, uneven burning, and avoid flame flare-ups and soot deposit. Drafts can also blow debris into the flame where it can catch fire.
-
Always burn candles in a well-ventilated room. Do not burn too many candles in a small area where airflow is limited.
-
Extinguish and do not relight candle once the wax remaining is ½ inch from the bottom.
-
Never touch or move a burning candle or container candle when the wax is liquid.
-
Never use a knife or sharp object to remove wax drippings from glass container.
-
Extinguish any candles that repeatedly smokes, flickers, or if the flame becomes too high. Let cool, trim the wick, and make sure it is in a safe, non-drafty area before relighting.
Enjoy!
